RENAULT SPIDER TROPHY


The Renault Spider Trophy was introduced in 1996 to contest the UK and European Cup Championships. They were very nicely built at the Alpine factory on an Aluminium space frame, with very modern suspension, Sadev 6 Speeds Sequential gearbox and 185HP Clio Williams engine. The Spider Trophy was replaced in 2001 by the Clio V6 Trophy but this was not an as enjoyable car to drive as the Spider and most of the Trophy drivers regretted it. The Renault Spider is a proud successor to the Alpines and the famous French sport cars brand’s shadow is clearly hanging on them.

 This very original Trophy is chassis number 09937, it is in good condition and very sound. Chassis is perfectly straight and the mechanical is also very sound, the paint and body work are good for a proper track use. It’s very rewarding to drive and very quick, the sequential gearbox helps a lot to make the driving very easy and friendly. With a very reasonable maintain cost, it is an interesting car to purchase being of the most enjoyable and spectacular track day car.
