LOTUS 18 FJ

The Lotus 18 appeared in F1 in 1960 and was driven by famous drivers such as Stirling Moss. In 1961 the F1 car was declined into a Formula Junior with 1000cc and Ford Anglia Engines. They are extremely reputed cars in terms of handling and were for Lotus the first steps of glory.

This particular car was sold new to G. Russell School in 1960 and then purchased by the “Team Edger” in France. B. Boyer raced the car in Italia and France, entering it in many international events including Reims with he finished 4TH at the back of Taylor, Maggs and Siffert. He also won the French FJ Championship that year. After putting an end to his racing career, Bernard Boyer later became the Matra Sport chief engineer and designed the mythicals 660 and 670.

After its career in FJ, it was sold to the Winfield driving school in Magny Cours to be a training car for young talents. Most of the F1 drivers from the 70s took the wheel from this car there.
